THE SCIENCE BEHIND SKINCEUTICALS VITAMIN C
SkinCeuticals vitamin C serums are backed by over 30 years of scientific research and dozens of clinical studies. All feature pure vitamin C in the form of L-ascorbic acid to neutralize free radicals. What sets them apart is the Duke Parameters — the precise formulation criteria discovered by Dr. Sheldon Pinnell that determine exactly what is required for a topical vitamin C serum to penetrate the skin and work effectively.
The Duke Parameters are based on three key principles — the three P's: Purity (pure L-ascorbic acid is the most effective form for skin penetration); Percentage (the optimal concentration is 10 to 20% — higher percentages do not improve efficacy and can sensitize the skin); and pH (below 3.5 is required for the vitamin C to be bioavailable and effective). CHOOSING THE RIGHT VITAMIN C SERUM
