What are Multi-Acid Complexes?

Multi-acid complexes are typically made of alpha hydroxy and beta hydroxy exfoliating acids–such as glycolic acid, salicylic acid, phytic acid, and mandelic acid–that work synergistically together to increase cell turnover. These acids can significantly improve brightness, smoothness, and reduce visible signs of aging by removing dead skin cells, unclogging pores, improving skin texture, and reducing the appearance of blemishes, hyperpigmentation, and fine lines.

What are Exfoliating Acids?

Exfoliating acids are either alpha hydroxy, beta hydroxy acids or multi-acid complexes that work to rid the skin of dead cells through gentle chemical exfoliation. These acids remove the outer layer of skin by breaking the bond between dead cells and the surface of skin, revealing radiant skin underneath.
