Neurotoxin Injectables at a Glance

Every movement a body makes is triggered by a nerve cell that signals a muscle to contact. Neurotoxin treatments such as Botox®, Jeuveau®, Dysport® and XEOMIN® injections temporarily inhibit these nerve cells. The resulting diminished movement allows wrinkles and lines in the skin to soften and often disappear.

What to Know About Neurotoxin Injectables

Neurotoxins are injected directly into the targeted muscle using a fine-gauge needle. How long it takes for the neurotoxin to begin inhibiting muscle movement depends on the formulation, the amount injected and how quickly the toxin spreads in a particular patient. Results are generally seen within 2 -5 days but can take up to two weeks to fully present.
