Thermage® at a Glance

Thermage® delivers radiofrequency (RF) waves into the collagen stores found in the visible outer layer of skin (the epidermis), the deeper layer (the dermis) as well as a layer of fat below the dermis that also contains a web of collagen fibers. The RF heat separates the water molecules from the collagen causing them to contract and thicken for an immediate skin tightening effect. These remodeled strands of collagen are now stronger and able to provide greater “lift” to the skin for an improved appearance. The pulses of radiofrequency skin tightening energy also encourage new collagen production for long-lasting results after a Thermage® treatment.5

What to Know About Thermage®

Radiofrequency skin tightening, if administered improperly, can cause unwanted fat loss, which cannot be addressed through non-invasive procedures. Although this occurrence is rare, it is important to be aware of the risks and consult only with an experienced Thermage® practitioner.
